How to Replace the Engine Air Filter in VW Jetta, Passat

First your air intake, there’s a little cupboard that pops off, take that step back aside with a little screwdriver or a pick and enter, just kind of push you’ll be able to see these clips and then pull that out of so these are the clips you’re getting. Get a hose clamp pliers to take the intake tube off of the airbox. We’re going to lift the air box off of the engine.

Use force to grab and pull the gearbox, and then pop it off, lift it up. Take out each screw and that you can loose and lift up the hinges out. Reinstalling it and make sure everything is seated along all the edges because if you put it back together, it’s not seated correctly, the mass airflow sensor doesn’t know there’s extra air coming in and it can cause check engine lights to come on. Line up the little and hold it down. Put the intake holes back on and make sure you use this clamp back on correctly and it comes back into place down.
